Our Junior Team fought back for a great half at Bush Hill Park on
Sunday 12 July to lead at the top of the Middlesex League. Another
fine performance from Henry Montague at the end of the field secured
a well deserved draw.
Bush Hill fielded Lagi (Stavros Flatly) who recently starred in
Britains Got Talent and took time out for photos with our team. He
played against Harry O'Brien playing his first ever Cadet Game. One
he'll remember for a long time!

North Middlesex was formally awarded GolfMark club status on Thursday 28th May by Les Ferdinand (former England and Tottenham Hotspur footballer). Les is Middlesex County’s Ambassador for golf and said that he hoped many more clubs in Middlesex would follow our example as it was so important for young people to be encouraged to take up a sport to stay fit and healthy.
Peter Marsh was presented with our GolfMark certificate just before Les opened our new practice area with a chipping challenge with the juniors. After much checking with a tape measure, the judges (President, John Penn and Club professional, Freddy George) declared Henri Montague the winner by smallest of margins!
The New Foxes Captain for 2009 will be Dave Eatwell. The Foxes wish him well for the coming season.

Unexpected Guests

What a surprise the ladies had yesterday. At 8.30am during their weekly round unexpected visitors arrived by balloon. Not only the aviators arrived but quite a few police officers who had been alerted by many callers from the area who had seen the balloon getting dangously low.
Our intrepid General Manager (Howard Till) was quickly on the scene with his trusty camera. You can see a selection in the read more of this article.
The information he received later was that the balloon took off from Hyde Park as a pleasure trip heading for fields the other side of Barnet. But unfortunately the winds changed direction and the pilot was running out of fuel. Our golf club was the only open area he could see to land.
The balloon was quickly packed away into a van and taken away and fortunately there was no damage to the course.
North Middlesex is proud to announce that they are the first golf club in Middlesex to achieve GolfMark (www.golfmark.org )status.
